About The Role

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Web and Social Media Officer to provide maternity leave cover for 9-12 months.

In this exciting role, you will assist, as part of a team, in managing the Council’s online presence. You will be responsible for designing and producing webpages for the Council’s website and intranet and ensuring any PDFs meet accessibility requirements before being loaded onto the website.  You will also create content, including taking photos and video, for the Council’s social channels and digital screens. You will analyse the performance of our social media and stay up to date with the latest digital trends.  

You will also be familiar with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to edit and resize photos and artwork.

You will work with the Communications Manager to contribute towards developing new ways of using social media in a local government setting.

About You

You’ll need strong communication skills to craft engaging content and interact with our customers and interpersonal skills to collaborate with our teams. ICT skills and experience of using social media in a professional manner are essential along with a customer focused approach.

Organisation and prioritisation skills are important along with a strong attention to detail.
